If I know nothing about the travel industry, is there help to get started? There is guidance and support each step of the way to help with anything and everything, by the best agent support of any firm I've ever been with. Also, we have an agency community portal, where it's agencies helping agencies. You are never on an island.
What can a travel advisor do, that I can't do myself? A travel advisor has a database of thousands of flights, resorts, and cruise lines and can crosscheck research in a couple of hours, that would take days for a traveler to look up and compare.
Isn't it expensive to run ads on a website and social media pages? It is, but not for this opportunity. Our consortium keeps our website and social media pages loaded w/ads, promos, flash deals, etc., at no cost to your agency.
What's the difference between search engine client support and a travel agency's client support? If a flight cancels at a layover, with search engines you are often in a 1-800 cycle with a call center that has no personal stake in your trip. We are open from 10am-5pm, Monday-Friday. Saturday from 10am-2pm. We don't section off our days, we've found that some consultations last 30 minutes, and some take an hour+. If after hours is needed, just give us a one day notice by email or phone with the time, and we will confirm if we are or are not available for the time chosen. This is what travel advisors do, we go the extra mile. If a resort is renovating, that's the last thing we want, for our client not to know this until they arrive. Search engines don't detect, or care what may be going on at any property. We always have amenities that we can attach, maybe early-check-in, and late check-out, free WiFi, champagne on ice for honeymooners on arrival, or a free stay for the bride and groom, with a guest list of 10 staying at the resort for four nights or more.
